Generative AI: Home

WHAT IS GENERATIVE AI?

Generative artificial intelligence is an AI tool that can independently create new content in the form of text, images, music, videos, and more. GenAI can parse natural language queries to generate relevant, original responses based on patterns and knowledge learning during training. It can significantly reduce time spent on certain tasks. GenAI has the potential to revolutionize industries, enhanced productivity, and created exciting new possibilities. However, it has also raised ethical and legal concerns related to intellectual property, misinformation, perpetuating bias, and other possibilities of misuse.

AI TRANSFORMING THE LEGAL FIELD

Generative AI has significantly impacted the legal field by streamlining time-consuming tasks such as contract drafting, legal research, and document review. Depending on which survey you read, many attorneys are using GenAI for at least one type of legal task. However, this potential for an increase in efficiency comes with notable risks, such as hallucinations, data bias, and ethical concerns, all of which require human oversight to mitigate. Legal professionals will need to adapt by integrating these technologies into their practices, ensuring they leverage the benefits while maintaining ethical standards and ensuring accuracy.
