How to Research University of Michigan Law School Alumni

Graduates of the University of Michigan Law School have been making their mark on the world since 1860.  We wanted to offer biographical information on each and every graduate, but had to limit our research efforts.  Therefore the Law School Students section of our History and Traditions website contains biographies of only some graduates.  The purpose of this guide it is to point you to the sources that may provide biographical  information on University of Michigan Law School alumni.

See the text box below for information on how to find if biographical information is available on the site for an individual graduate.

How to Find Biographies on the History & Traditions Website

To find information on the History & Traditions website:

  • Navigate to the "Students" section; select the .pdf that covers the first letter of the surname you seek. [Alphabetical list of graduates]
  • Click on the name to be taken to the page for that student.
  • Biographical information, if any, will be on that page.

No biographical information there?  We hope the information given in this guide will help you conduct a successful research project.  Use the tabs at the top of page and the links to the left to navigate through the research guide.   An outline of each page is displayed in bold, black lettering in the box to the left of the page you are on.

If you wish to submit a biographical sketch of someone or comment on a sketch already there, contact us using this form
