Before the Writing Competition Site "goes live"

An editor from each Journal should update the text / links on their page of the site.  Most Journals choose to upload a PDF with information for prospective applicants / information about the grading / selection process, and requirements if selected.

To edit your page, go to https://www.law.umich.edu/login.  Once you have logged in, go to https://www.law.umich.edu/journalsandorgs/journalapplications/Pages/default.aspx.  You should see a black bar above a gray bar at the top of the page.

In the gray bar you should see the words BROWSE PAGE PUBLISH near the left side of the page. (*If you do not, click the gear icon in the top right part of the gray bar and select SHOW RIBBON.) To edit the page, select PAGE and then EDIT.

When you are done editing, you have to do the following steps for your changes to become 'live' for others to see:

1. Save the page

2. check-in the page

3. publish the page

* The Managing Editor of MLR is responsible for updating the main page of the site with the dates / information, as well as the MLR page.

After the Writing Competition has ended

When you've graded all the applications and are ready to send offers, send Jessica Pasquale a list of the Ticket Numbers you want to accept, wait list, and reject.

She will send you back an alphabetized list of names for the people you accept so you can contact them personally if you want. She can also send the acceptance letter as an attachment in an email to each person, if you would rather not do that yourself. There is a google form applicants will receive where they can indicate their decision to accept or decline a position.

Jessica can also send the wait list emails, along with a link to a separate google form requesting applicants if they wish to remain on the wait list. Notify Jessica if you plan to send these yourself.

Jessica can also send the rejection emails to people who were not accepted. Notify Jessica if you plan to send these yourself.
