Library Rules for Journals

  • Food is only allowed in the Journal offices, but please don’t openly carry food through the building.

  • No alcohol is permitted on campus.

  • Please be mindful of your fellow students and keep the noise to a minimum. If you need to take a phone call, do so in a Journal Office and close the door.

  • Though Journal editors are often in and out of the building more frequently than other students, you still need to show your MCard at the Entrance Station each time you enter the underground library.

  • Journal editors are allowed to remain in their offices after the library has closed. To do so, your Journal needs a signed After Hours Pass to display to the security guard. Passes are only good for one academic year. To request a new pass, email Jessica Pasquale (hanesjl@umich.edu).
